Therapy4thePeople is excited to announce that we have received our first grant! The University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics (IOP) is a nonpartisan, extracurricular organization that aims to inspire and cultivate the next generation of political and public service leaders. Therapy4thePeople was selected as an awardee of the Civic Leadership Grant, which is designed to provide seed funding for students to advance innovative projects that meet a demonstrated community need.
Over the summer, Therapy4thePeople will work closely with IOP staff to advance our organization’s goals, namely, to incorporate and obtain tax-exempt status as a 501(c)(3). This status will allow us to grow and sustain our efforts, as it will make us eligible for funding opportunities designated for nonprofits. Further, 501(c)(3) status will help us attract talented volunteers and professionals to our growing team.
We are humbled and honored to receive this grant. We look forward to working closely with IOP staff to build our non-profit in a sustainable and equitable manner. Thank you to the University of Chicago’s IOP for their generous support!
