Service Description
Apicha Community Health Center’s (AHC) mission is to improve the health of our community and to increase access to comprehensive primary care, preventative health services, mental health, and supportive services. Providers have extensive experience working with Asians and Pacific Islanders, Latinos, African Americans and other people of color. They also specialize in serving individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender, as well as people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
If you and your Apicha CHC medical provider believe that you would benefit from behavioral health services, you must first undergo a psychosocial assessment, in order to determine your eligibility to receive limited short-term counseling or a referral for ongoing psychotherapy. Their social workers can provide you with short-term counseling or a referral to another provider depending on your individual needs. Their psychiatrist is available for an initial evaluation and medication management. Their primary language is English, but have a translation line for bilingual services.
In addition to accepting Medicaid, Medicare, and most commercial insurances, AHC offer services to anyone regardless of their ability to pay or insurance status. If you are uninsured or underinsured, they offer a low cost/sliding-fee scale option based on income. This means that if your income is below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines, your visit fees will range from $20 to $75. Prescription and lab fees are not included in this fee and will be an additional cost.
