How our directory is different

Many people get discouraged when they look for mental health care and find out how much it can cost to see a therapist. As therapists and researchers, we know that affordable support is out there so we’re helping people find it.

Our directory includes all kinds of mental health care options–therapy and beyond.

Best of all, we only include mental health services and supports that are affordable. For visits with a professional that means it would cost $30 or less

Therapy is great but it's not the only option.

We’re building a diverse directory that can link people to support no matter their financial circumstances or stage of help-seeking. Some people aren’t ready for therapy yet or can’t make room for it in their lives. We get that.

Our directory offers different options so everybody can find something that works for them.

Therapy & Psychiatry

Includes individual, group, and family therapy and medication management as long as they're provided by clinicians who are licensed or practicing under a licensed supervisor.

Support Groups

Includes groups providing support for people dealing with their own or others' mental health concerns. It is different from group therapy because the facilitator is not licensed.

Apps & Self-Guided Programs

Includes mobile/tablet applications that provide mental health support, as well as online programs where users navigate support on their own.

Phone, Text, & Chat Services

Includes support services that users access by phone call, text, or messaging platforms and that are not provided by a licensed professional.

Who should submit services?
