Service Description
Achieving optimal health when struggling with a mental illness is challenging. Finding housing, primary care or eating healthy foods, all key elements for a healthy life, frequently become insurmountable. At Heartland Alliance Health, we mainly provide individual therapy/counseling services to refugees, individuals living with HIV, experiencing homelessness, experiencing substance misuse, and who have financial need. HAH has provided mental health services for 30 years, focusing on those with a serious mental illness and the fewest resources. We believe that addressing mental illness is a prerequisite to improving health. Our translation services (including American Sign Language) allow us to help those who need mental health services and psychiatric referrals.
