Service Description
Metropolitan Center for Mental Health (MCMH) is a non-profit, outpatient behavioral health organization founded in 1962, dedicated to providing affordable psychological and psychiatric treatment to support the emotional well-being of people living in its surrounding community. Their mission to serve all members of their community regardless of financial or cultural barriers remains core to their service delivery today. The Center offers a wide range of mental health services. Their clients include all ages and cultures. They also have three specialty services: Hispanic Family Service, a child and adolescent program, and a substance abuse program called FAIR.

The Clinic accepts Medicaid, Medicare and several Managed Care Plans (Commercial plans, Medicaid plans and Medicare Advantage). The Clinic offers an out-of-pocket fee, based on a sliding scale, for uninsured persons. There is a flat fee of $35 for the initial Intake evaluation and a $45 flat fee for a psychiatric evaluation (if one is needed). Individual fees thereafter are set on a sliding scale, based on proof of income. Family size/dependents are considered in the sliding scale fee and fees are set in accord with federal poverty guidelines. Those individuals who fall below poverty level may be eligible for discounted fees.

Hours and intake processes vary for the substance use program. Call 212-543-4445 for specialized support.
