The Freddie Mac Foundation Child and Adolescent Protection Center at Children’s National Hospital is the only medical center in D.C. with a team of health professionals dedicated to victims of child abuse and their families. We are one of few hospitals in the country using a team approach to assessing and treating these victims.

The Child and Adolescent Protection Center believes that all children have the right to develop and mature in a supportive, nurturing environment and that they have the need and the right to be protected from every form of violence, victimization and neglect. When children are victimized, they must be given appropriate medical and mental health assessment and treatment with dignity, respect and an appreciation for their emotional and intellectual maturity.

Want to get vaccinated but scared of needles? Needle anxiety is very common. 10-25% of the adult population has a fear of needles and injections to the extent that they avoid injection-related medical care. If you’ve had bad reactions or bad medical experiences in the past, we understand and we are here to help. We offer our free needle phobia pilot program to anyone who experiences needle anxiety as a barrier to getting vaccinated.

Register through our confidential, HIPAA-compliant portal and we’ll try to match you with a trained CBT therapist to help you manage needle anxiety.
